Question on 'Killed'
Question on 'Killed'
I've got a nifty, single page Cheat Sheet that's really helpful and well done. I'm not sure who made it, but I imagine I got it here long ago.
So today I was reviewing it, and I came across this line:
Killed: Takes second Wound and reduced to 0 Endurance in same round
The part that I don't think I've found anywhere in the rules is the "in same round". Is that correct? Or would it be any time a character takes a second wound when they are at 0 Endurance?

Re: Question on 'Killed'
If you've got zero endurance and one wound you are unconscious. How would the second wound be acquired?

Page 130 in the revised rules; first paragraph.
Yes, it is very hard to kill a PC.

It's pretty easy to imagine a situation where you take enough Endurance damage to go to zero and get wounded in the same round. Plus, poisoned counts as wounded.
Wounded and zero Endurance? That second wound is called Coup de Grâce.

Re: Question on 'Killed'
Yeah, I suppose it would be difficult (for it to happen on a different round). But there's probably ways it could happen. The player is laying there unconscious (having been wounded twice), but still has Endurance. Then the ground they are on crumbles, and they fall. Or while they're laying there, a fire moves their way and burns them.Elfcrusher wrote:If you've got zero endurance and one wound you are unconscious. How would the second wound be acquired?
I guess it's probably going to be extremely rare for it to not happen in the same round.

I don't have the revised Core Book (yet). Anyone know what page that is on the original?

I think it's funny that the doomed character in that example, Narvi the Dwarf, appears only in that example. Whereas most (all?) of the other examples use the example heroes. I guess Francesco didn't want to kill off one of them.

Narvi turns up and dies on page 144 of the Adbenturers Guide in the two volume original rules.

Re: Question on 'Killed'
Yeah, upon re-reading that I do remember it now.
Just wanted to add that I like how it's not super easy to die in this game, but yet it's still quite possible, leaving the threat and level of danger very real, especially if a character who is Wounded chooses to keep fighting.
