And for what it's worth, the Lord of the Rings Online MMO has made the Forsaken Inn a popular destination point with many quests, etc attached to it.

I have no idea how much more lenient or strict LOTRO's content contract is with MEE, than The One Ring's is.

Thank you Robert, I didn't know they did that.

Yes, the Forsaken Inn offers tons of adventure possibilities. In another one of my fav passages, Barliman explains to Gandalf & the Hobbits about what happens to the Bree-landers (& that area) during the War of the Ring:

‘...It all comes of those newcomers and gangrels that began coming up the Greenway last year, as you may remember; but more came later. Some were just poor bodies running away from trouble; but most were bad men, full o’ thievery and mischief...’

I thus use the inn as a secret trysting place for some of the servants of the Enemy, including spies from both Saruman & Sauron. The place appears to be a quaint little inn, but hey, appearances can be deceiving in RPGs :)

You're welcome. Yeah there's a fair number of old ruins there in the "Lone Lands" where Weathertop is (the dubbed territory between Bree and Trollshaws).

The ruins are havens for spiders, wargs, crebains, and goblins and there's lots of stuff to go and kill there. :-)

The Lone Lands is one of the few territories that come "Free-to-Play" so that's why I said the Inn is a popular spot. Cuz all that content is free. You have to pay to do quests in Trollshaws. Now mind you, you can go into and explore and kill critters in almost all of the terrritories, and mine resources. But to actually do quests in that region you have to pay for that privilege (with the exception of the storyline book quest which follows the footsteps of the Fellowship).
