Any fellow-LM out there willing to share their reason why Beorn visits Northern Mirkwood and meets with emissaries of King Thranduil in 2949?

Viglund, I'd imagine. The two of them (Thranduil and Beorn) are the closest rulers to where Viglund is trying to set up shop and Beorn might be attempting some sort of diplomatic thing in order to get an alliance or at least be on the same page about the slaver.

We are told that Beorn 'had very few friends and they lived a good way away' so it's possible that he counted Thranduil, Legolas or somebody in the elven court as a friend.
Jacob Rodgers, occasional nitwit.
