The mods can't make the change for you? I know that's an option on other boards...

I think the winning entry is thematically appropriate given the Glorifindel thread EC started. ;)

Hurray!

Elfcrusher - I'm glad you liked my suggestion :) If you do decide to adopt the new name or change your existing one (and the phpBB software is configured to allow it), I would be honoured - though hopefully it wouldn't be too confusing to anyone reading threads subsequently...

By the way, I had a play around with how 'Glorelendil' would look in tengwar - I think, something like this:

This came from the very neat online tengwar transcriber. I liked the fact it happened to come out with a triple Tengwar rune for the TOR-geek appeal...

Again, I hope the real Quenya and Sindarin language scholars will forgive my errors, and suggest improvements. This was actually laurëaelendil, translating 'Glor' back to 'laurëa' to match 'elendil' really being Quenya, not Sindarin.

Little known fact: "Ludicrous Success" was dropped from the game just before it went to print.

Ludicrous Successes would have seen shield and oliphant-trunk surfing, so we could not let it pass.

What's funny is that just two days ago - when I was helping a new teenaged player make a new character (and knowing he was leaning towards an Elf archer) - I informed him that, while we were still doing High Fantasy, any Elf he made would not be so cinematic as to be able to surf down the trunk of an oliphaunt! :D
Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).
