Hello all,
I just started running a game of this a couple of weeks ago and had a question that came up about the Raise Standard of Living Fellowship undertaking.
The rules say that spending 1 point of Treasure allows a character to raise his standard of living to prosperous for a month. Since a typical adventuring/fellowship phase cycle is generally around a year in length, we took this to mean that for a character to get any real value from this he would have to spend several points of treasure to maintain the increase for several months during the Fellowship phase.
Is our understanding correct? Or is there something we are missing?

No, that's correct.

Yeah, the typical Fellowship Phase will often be from 3-6 months, as adventurers hunker down during the cold months of the year.
Our Hobbit did this for a few months, throwing his money around Dale for a season.

Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).
