Loremaster's NPC cards

Post by buddhax » Sat Dec 20, 2014 12:00 am

I want to design a very simple card with the name, maybe a picture and description for NPC. I have the issue that sometimes I have a long time between sessions and my players forget some details about a NPC so having an accessible card to remind them who is who will be very helpful.

Do you have something like this?

I'm thinking to create a web to carry all this Loremaster info like Treasures, NPC, logs and that kind of things with an easy system to export it to PDFs to Dropbox so you can check it offline in your tablet. But right now I'm working in a web to publish roleplay events, even at home, using a reputation system to prevent unknown people go to your home and kill you before using your soul for a dark pact. This webs are going to be initially in spanish but readily translated to english.

When I run games, I tend to put everything into a OneNote notebook and hyperlink whatever I want. If my players want to keep notes, I encourage this, but I don't do it for them.

As for Loremaster characters, these don't usually require much in the way of statistics, just description.

Seconded: OneNote is a pretty great LM tool, especially with a tablet and a stylus.

Grabbing things from the rulebook PDFs and adventures is as easy as:
  • Opening relevant page in PDF
  • Use Snipping Tool to capture relevant piece of the page (NPC pic/stat block)
  • Paste in OneNote (once for each adversary)
  • Use stylus to keep track of Endurance loss, etc. during play
You can do this on an impromptu basis, if need be, without taking more than a minute of real time. :D
