No Quarter & Cultural Rewards Q's

Post by tigermuppetcut » Wed Jan 14, 2015 8:06 pm

Hi there the enemy skill "No Quarter" says the enemy make a test at "the usual TN" to finish off their foes but what does this mean?

A) TN 14 (the default TN for most things)
B) The same TN as to hit them in the first place based on Stance + Parry + Shield
C) The base TN for their Stance without any Parry or other bonuses

I guess since the victim is already unconscious it must be "A" (since they aren't really in a stance nor able to parry)

And for Cultural Rewards I could have sworn I saw a section on handling these as a Loremaster (not letting them get lost or stolen or destroyed) but I can't seem to find that section (and may have dreamt it!!!!).... anyone know where this section lives (if it exists).

Thanks :D

I would use B for No Quarter.

Page 114 of the Revised Edition under the section titled Availability covers plot immunity for Rewards.

That's an interesting question. I would vote for no Parry. In fact I think I'd use the default TN of 14.

Go not to the Cubicle 7 forums for counsel for they will say both B and A... :)

Hmmm. It says that it is immediately after the primary attack knocks out an opponent that you spend the Hate and make another attack roll with the secondary weapon. I read that as happening in the moment, i.e. effectively simultaneous with the primary attack. Thus, B.

I always understood B.

There goes my vote.

So far I always used B.

The same...I've used the Combat TN (option B that is) narrating the "No Quarter" as part of the same episodic-moment. It makes for a very smooth narration: No interrupts to recheck or recalculate a TN.
