Yes. They're not so tough as to curbstomp a whole party. I guess you could also upgrade the troll, that could make it interesting as well.Majestic wrote:Good stuff, zed. And yes, my group is bigger (usually at least six PCs). Were you thinking a second Hill Troll?
And thanks for the good ideas!

Re: Crossing the Celduin *Spoiler alert*
Adding features from Rivendell would make the troll much more of a threat.
Greater could be very nasty, Formidable or Deadly even nastier and Battle-Hardened is going to make a TPK likely.

Those are great ideas. Thanks, zedturtle and Hermes Serpent!

After some thought, I've decided to add Formidable. That should make it much tougher, but hopefully not so much so that it wipes out all of the PCs.

Re: Crossing the Celduin *Spoiler alert*
In re-reading the adventure in prep for tonight's session, I just caught something I'd missed on the first go-round. At the top of p. 121, under 'Stopping the Enemy', it says "To reach the town, the enemy must either pass through Mirkwood (unlikely, as they would get lost and could not ride their horses through the woods), or through the Long Marshes (impossible for an army)."
The mistake is that the enemy army is Orcs and Goblins riding Wargs, not horses.
