So, yes, if the hero was reduces to 0 Endurance by the blow that generated the second Wound. No in any other case.

Well, the hero is unconscious as soon as he suffers a second wound (even if the first one is treated). But he's not killed or at risk of dying, as Zed wrote. He just passes out when he receives the second wound.

Yeah, barring a coup de grace, PCs are intentionally rather difficult to actually kill in TOR. Mostly, a second wound just knocks you unconscious.

Dying
When a Wounded hero is reduced to 0 Endurance, he
passes out and is considered to be Dying.
A dying character will perish if he doesn’t get help soon
(see Getting Better, overleaf).
Just to clarify, the hero needs only one Wound to be Dying.

Besides, to add to the difficulty of dying, the Getting Better section states that the hero does not die right away:
Treating Dying Characters
Dying characters must have their Wound successfully
treated with a Healing roll within approximately 12
hours, or they will die. As soon as their Wound is treated
successfully, they are not considered to be dying any more
.

That does posit an interesting question... a hero with a Treated Wound gets into combat and gets brought down to 0 Endurance. Unconscious for sure, but Dying? Does the already Treated Wound need to be treated again?

Interesting...
I would say that a Wound is still a Wound, treated or not. If a hero with a Treated Wound receives a second Wound, he falls unconcious. The Treated Wound is still considered Wound.

Well, yeah. But I think I'd rule that a character with a Treated Wound made Dying by being at 0 Endurance would need his Wound treated again... e.g. it opened back up during the stress of combat and he's now at risk of bleeding out, or whatever.

Just for simplicity, I'd consider that a Treated Wound becomes "untreated" only if the character is Wounded again. If only his Endurance is affected, I'd keep that separate from the Wound itself.

In fact, as per RAW, I think that a character that has a Treated Wound and is Wounded again should still have his Wounded status underlined, considering the original Wound still Treated.
When a character whose Wounded box has already been
checked is Wounded again, he immediately becomes
Unconscious (see below).
The second Wound is not recorded in any way. The
character was simply knocked out, or passed out from
shock.

Alright, so a hero with a Treated Wound that gets knocked to 0 Endurance is Unconscious but not Dying? That's cool.
