List of Fellowship Phase undertakings
Re: List of Fellowship Phase undertakings
The Confer with Saruman undertaking is on page 50 of DoM. I added it to the Google Drive list

Re: List of Fellowship Phase undertakings
Not everyone in our campaign has a copy of every expansion (in fact most of the players have just the core rulebook) so I took a bit of free time and updated the list with a brief summary of the potential benefits and the required or recommended skills for each undertaking.
I also added the new Confer with Gandalf undertaking from Ruins of the North.
I don't know of any undertakings added by home-brew or fan rules. Anyone that could point me to any? I'd be happy to add them.
You should be able to access this google spreadsheet.

Re: List of Fellowship Phase undertakings
I just saw that the benefit listed under "Meet a Patron" is "Patron gains a Patron".
As some people showed me in a thread not-so-old, that's not how it works:
The Patrons are automatically gained during the Adventure Phase if the group performed really well for some important character (see, for example, the Kinstrife adventure, and go to the results of the Encounter with Beorn).
After that, Meet Patron means that one character goes to see this Patron to ask him for something (a favour, information,... whatever suits your campaign).
You can find the discussion here:

Thanks for compiling a list, midnightyell!
I'd recommend that - if you decide to incorporate any fan Undertakings - that you perhaps list them in a different color or something along those lines, just to make it easier for everyone to know which ones are 'official' and which are 'unofficial'.

Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

Re: List of Fellowship Phase undertakings
Technically, it says "Party gains Patron" and that is because, in the campaign I'm in, that is how the Loremaster told me the Undertaking worked. Now that I read what you have provided, I don't think we did it 100% correctly and I've corrected the sheet I posted above.Falenthal wrote:I just saw that the benefit listed under "Meet a Patron" is "Patron gains a Patron".
I think the confusion arose because the best explanation of securing Beorn or Rhadagast as a Patron is made in the Campaign section intended for the Loremaster. If a player like me is intentionally not delving into that section to avoid campaign spoilers and I interpret "meet" from "Meet Patron" to be "gains or Secures" instead of "seeks audience for the requesting of a boon" I can get the wrong impression easily.
I suppose a little clarification on page 197 (rather than 274) for the sake of players who are not LMs wouldn't hurt, should they do a third revision.
1. You are most welcome, of a certain.Majestic wrote:Thanks for compiling a list, midnightyell!

2. I'd fully intended to denote house rules or fan-rule undertakings...
3. but I can't seem to locate any. I find it hard to believe that no one has written a new fellowship undertaking in all of the fan material I've seen spread around... Any leads

Update: I've added two (Seek Marriage & Learn Magic) and that section has a sub heading. Instead of a simple Book and Page reference, it has a link to the Fan Rules that hold the undertaking.

My magic rules (see signature) have a custom undertaking.
Someone (Corvo?) had some house ruled undertakings for Dale.
