Hi guys,

Slightly at a tangent, but still related.

With regards to mixing Tales from Wilderland in with Darkening, from your experience what is the best order?

Regards,

Steve

I started Tales before DoM. I ran Those who Tary around 2949, I ran Secrets Burried from DoM and used that to tie into Darkness in the Marshes from Tales. Currently I am playing through the year 2951. I have used the Helm of Peace from DoM to get the company to Laketown/Dale in time for Dragontide and the Gathering of the Five Armies 10 year celebration. I had Ceawin give them money to take to Dale with instructions for them to commission the Helm and then await for it to be completed. While there waiting, I will have them see Dragontide and then lead into Crossings of the Celduin.

Don't forget that we're keeping an eye out for a sneaking Dale or Laketown man that was caught consorting with orcs and a spirit!

You can read about how I've alternated between the two in my campaign here. Essentially, I mostly did Tales, working in bits of Darkening until we were finished with TfW. My only regret is that I didn't have the PCs involved in the Woodmen Folk Moot, and had to have that happen "off camera".

By the way, I didn't want to create a new thread just for this but, don't you guys think the fact that the Elf captain shaved Frar's beard is actually a really, really big offense?
Of Finarfin's children I am the last. But my heart is still proud. What wrong did the golden house of Finarfin do that I should ask the pardon of the Valar, or be content with an isle in the sea whose native land was Aman the Blessed? Here I am mightier.

It should be considered pretty huge, yeah.

After the incident with the two dwarves in the Questing Beasts, one of my players promised to them to find the old Captain who shaved Frar. So I am trying to find some ideas on this. Even if my player discovers it and let's say just to theorize, "give the Captain" to the dwarves. What would they do to him do you think?

How is Ceawin in your campaigns? In my last session the wight managed to strike fear into the hearts of the companions and hit on of them unconscious and carried out his plan to put the helmet on Ceawin's head. Now my companions are suspicious of him and his new attitudes but I think they are trusting it and they don't know about the true nature of things.

My heroes bravely kept the crown from being placed on Ceawin's head, so he's become a strong ally in his community of Sunstead.
