Re: Aragorn
Well...
Of the Fellowship of the Ring, you can do without Legolas. You can do without Gimli. You can do without Merry and Pippin. You can definitely do without Boromir.
But Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, and Gandalf are pretty much 'lose any of them and Middle Earth is screwed.'

Eru will provide. He's like the Doctor, except even more likely to go back in time and provide for some unforeseen eventuality that ends being exactly what is needed for his plan to be fulfilled.Angelalex242 wrote:Well...

Everyone has a destiny. But everyone also has free choice. Turn aside (or be struck down by some opportunistic undead) from your destiny, it is your choice. But there is another. There is always another.

Re: Aragorn
Eru might well provide.

I don't buy it. How could anybody possibly mistake Viggo Mortensen for Aragorn?Angelalex242 wrote:Eru might well provide.

Re: Aragorn
It was a body double! The real Aragorn never left Rivendell and is still there getting all romantic with Arwen.

Re: Aragorn
See, as much as people are kidding, I see no reason you couldn't do that.
Historically, a lot of royalty have used body doubles to help eliminate assassination attempts (or make them ineffective when they occur). I see no reason another of the Dunedain might not take up that duty and walk around saying his name was Aragorn and drawing attention from the real one. It'd have to be someone trusted, since he'd presumably have some real authority, but it seems very possible.
Of course, if I did this, I'd show the players a sealed envelope at the beginning of the game that (unbeknownst tothem) had that fact written inside, and would make sure to throw in some subtle clues that the guy they're hanging out with (while cool) isn't actually Aragorn. Could be fun seeing if they picked up on it...

Re: Aragorn
Hey, we all know Aragorn has two body doubles. John Hurt(animated version, 1978) and Viggo Mortensen
