Spending Time In Rivendell
"During the Adventure Phase, at the end of a session of play, if a companion spent any time in Rivendell he will only receive 1 Experience Point"
Does that mean no bonus? Only 1 experience Point at the end of the game?
Tks

Hey, guys, Elrond offered us food and shelter!

It's a great place to spend your Fellowship Phase.Angelalex242 wrote:Hey, guys, Elrond offered us food and shelter!

After you've been awarded experience, of course. And leaving right before the next session (rather than during it).
Re: Spending Time In Rivendell
After reading this thread, I went back to the Rivendell book and checked out the Staying at the Last Homely House section. It brought up a question for me. Perhaps a stupid question.
Under Effects of the Shadow, it states that companions spending a Fellowship Phase in Rivendell may choose the Heal Corruption undertaking and make up to two rolls. According to the Core Rules players are already entitled to two rolls if at a Sanctuary.. So (and here is the stupid question) does the Rivendell rule mean they can have two rolls regardless of whether or not the Company made the House of Elrond a Sanctuary?

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.

Yes.
EDIT: Sorry, should have elaborated. Yes, you get to roll twice even if it's not yet a Sanctuary. Once it becomes a Sanctuary you still get to roll twice.

Re: Spending Time In Rivendell
Maybe it means that even High Elves of Rivendell can make two rolls, even though Rivendell is home.
In general, you spend your fellowship phase either in a sanctuary or at home. I think the notion of spending a fellowship phase together in a place that's neither home nor sanctuary comes about as referee fiat based on circumstances—for example, you've been chased by Nazgûl through Eriador because you have the One Ring, and a High Elf takes you under his wing to Rivendell, where you become a special guest of Elrond. If you just stumble upon a place like Rivendell without the sponsorship of someone like Gandalf or Glorfindel, you can't spend a fellowship phase there until you've made it a sanctuary; Elrond will welcome you, and let you rest for a while, but you don't get to fully interact with the place as a special guest where you get to narrate what you do. Notice that the Heal Corruption undertaking mentions two rolls for sanctuaries and one roll for home, and says nothing about fellowship phases elsewhere.
I see Andrew has responded before I finished this post. I'll let this stand to show my thinking.

Actually, High Elves of Rivendell get to make 0 heal corruption rolls regardless of where they are.
They might get to mark off 2 skills instead of 1, though.

Re: Spending Time In Rivendell
Are the companions also able to choose 2 undertakings in years end even if they are not in sanctuary?
