Holding location (s)

Post by Balou1917 » Fri Feb 13, 2015 3:50 am

Just a thought, but if you were to pick a location (hex) for your holding, where would it be? I realize different races offer different locales. I also realize our games can/may be independant of others. My thought was if we accepted other players in "our private Middle Earth" and they had holdings, how wiuld they affect our maps. An interesting twist of a pen & paper rpg bridging a gap with the online mmo rpg's

I'm not saying we have to get along, but it would be interesting to share Middle Earth......thoughts?

I think things like Sanctuaries and Patrons might be tough to 'blend' from one campaign to another. Especially for those of us that have played through the various published adventures, so our characters might have both escorted Irime to the West, all might have become Patrons of Beorn, etc.

That said, I would imagine most Holdings would be able to port over pretty easily from one game to another. If a new player showed up at my game, and in his existing game his Woodsman character had a Holding in the East Bight, or her Hobbit had a Holding in the Shire, I'd simply put it there in my game as well. It would be hard for that to contradict or impinge on anybody else's territory, I would think.
Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).
