More Dwarf Names

The male names are all Dwarf-names from Norse mythology. I skipped over names that were the same or too similar to ones we are already familiar with. Many of the female names come from Norse valkyrie, giantesses, etc.

Some of the names might be a bit awkward, but you can always tinker with the spelling and come up with other variations. Some might even fit women of Rohan better.

My wife has a book of baby names that we use sometimes when generating player characters and NPCs. It includes (among others) sections on German, Irish, Mythology, Scandinavian, Scottish and Welsh names.

Tolkien used names from "Catalogue of Dwarves" from the Völuspá ("Prophecy of the Seeress")- the first poem of the Poetic Edda, a collection of Old Norse poems.
