Rolling the Feat-die twice

Post by Khamul » Sun Mar 08, 2015 2:36 pm

Is there a new rule about rolling the Feat-Die twice in some situations, or is it just used with some Rewards like the hobbits Lucky Armour?

It gets used with some rewards, some cultural blessings, and some virtues. I've been calling it "with Advantage" rather than using a sentence to describe it every time. "Disadvantage" (roll the Feat die twice and take the worse result) also appears in some places, such as the rarely used...in my experience..."Invoking Flaws" (page 226).

What do you mean by "New rule"?

I thought I read it somewhere in the new Core book but cant find it, so I just might have it mixed up with D&D.

Yep, twice pick best or twice pick worst is how 5E's Advantage/Disadvantage works, which means that some folks don't like applying the terminology to TOR's mechanics. However apt it may be, :).

Which is why maybe I'll start using "advantage" and "disadvantage" in lowercase. They should be generic gaming terms. Like "attack roll".
