Healing
How many healing attempts can you make on a wound?
My group has two people with a decent healing score, and naturally, they both want to help. Survival AP, ya know.

Re: Healing
One per day is what the rules say. If one person fails, I might let a second attempt be allowed, especially the very first time. But certainly no more than that. We once had two healers take a week to heal one character; whilst travelling through Mirkwood.

Re: Healing
But by strict RAW, if the first guy tries and fails, the 2nd guy can't even make an attempt?

Re: Healing
That's it. Better to take a Trait that autosucceeds without the AP

Re: Healing
When you are healed you don't suddenly feel X points better. A patient can't receive treatment and then say, "I didn't feel that. NEXT!" Real healing takes time. The healing roll represents the best job that the healer can do; it takes a day for the effects to be certain. For simplicity you get the Endurance points back right away, but the characters don't know that.

Re: Healing
No. But if Doctor A can't set your broken bone, maybe Doctor B should give it a try.
Or is that also not permitted?
Alternatively, Doctor B could make a roll to lower the TN for Doctor A. Then Doctor B can still get his survival AP.

Re: Healing
One method I've used for healing when two healers are present is for them to decide who is going to be the prime healer that will be making the roll. the secondary makes a roll and if he gets better than just standard success he's successfully managed to confer/advise the healer, and the prime healer is given a +1 to Healing. it works well and it's uncomplicated.

Doctor A set your broken bone, but did a bad job of it, which doesn't become apparent until the end of the day when you're STILL in pain and he said it would die down.Angelalex242 wrote:No. But if Doctor A can't set your broken bone, maybe Doctor B should give it a try.
A failed healing roll doesn't mean, "I can't do it"; it means "You did it yesterday so why does it still hurt?"

Re: Healing
The problem of AP-whoring in this case hadn't occurred to me. Every game I've played in, the other players just let the hero with the highest Healing score roll.
I could see, though, how on a failure you might let one other player try, perhaps against a higher TN, or with Disadvantage.
