Carn Dum picture

Post by Corvo » Fri Mar 20, 2015 3:57 pm

On page 29 of Ruins of The North we got an impressive vista of Carn Dum.
It's so majestic that it's a shame to keep it just for the Loremaster: I would like to show it to the players once their Heroes reach it.

Did the artist (Jon?) publish somewhere the picture sans the diamonds with the numbers? I can somehow obfuscate the tunnels, but the diamonds are too big for my (abysmal) painting skills

Btw, I'm asking because Jon put some maps on deviantart sans diamonds in the past (Dol Guldur, Rivendell, etc).

I probably shouldn't admit this, but I scanned the image as a JPEG and saved it, then used Windows Live photo gallery to edit it and erase all the "LM" stuff. It worked very well and I was amazed at how many layers of tunnels were in that picture. Kept having to crop over and over to get them out so I could show it to the group.

Thank you Killianred, maybe I should try something like this.
I shy away from anything that infringes on the rights of the artist and publisher, but I think that till the picture is on my device and I don't share it, it should be ok.

Edit: if someone from C7 knows otherwise, please, tell me. I would like to keep on the good side of the law.

So would I. I am certainly NOT going to put the edited picture on a site or anywhere else, it is just for the use of my players

You're not going to make money with edited picture so it wouldn't be a big problem anyway. Still, ask before putting the picture in line is a good idea for respect of the author.
Nothing of Worth.

I certainly do respect the author absolutely, but even if he said so, I would still not want to do it because I have no idea how it might be missused

I'll pop the non-graphics version up on a web gallery later on and return with a link.
