As I've argued with Rocmistro in the past, I'm not sure I believe that...statistically...there is really any difference between those builds, with the exception that very high Injury ("trollslaying") stands out on those infrequent occasions when it's needed, at the cost of being less efficient in most other circumstances. Since the vast majority of adversaries can be killed one of two ways, I'm not sure it makes sense to specialize in damage vs. wounding. That is, I don't think it provides any actual tactical benefit. It may simply be fun, of course, which is all that really matters.

(Also, Splitting Axe is a Beorning weapon, and Giant Slaying Spear increases damage, not Injury.)

Haha that'll teach me to not double check those facts.

You're right that it's never quite that clean cut although certain examples of this do crop up (our Elf archer with just a bow but a very high skill was lethal to weaker opponents with a Called Shot).

As you mentioned the high injury thing does stand out specifically. The infamous Snow Troll fight dragged on and on for my group but they only carried swords at the time. Hardly the kind of weapon designed to take out a rhino or similar large beast.

Anyway Glorelendil, check out my interesting builds post. I'm sure it's right up your alley.

Yeah...statistically, a Fell Great Spear or Great Bow using Called Shots is much better vs. really tough targets like a Great Orc, but aside from that the various 'builds' seem to do similarly at similar levels of optimization. And you really only need one guy with a Great Bow or Great Spear to be really useful even in regards to the Great Orcs and Trolls out there.

Just realized I should have said that most adversaries can be "killed either way" not "one of two ways" but I think y'all knew what I meant.
