First: Art is awesome, as ever!

Second, to detract a bit: Are we at all concerned about their being 'too many' Culture options? My worry may come from the fact that I only started this game last year and still prefer to experience it in 'vanilla' mode, whereas you experienced players are probably ready for a change of skin (Gondor, Rohan, Bree, etc.). I've just felt that when games get too big with too many options it tends to water down the experience a bit.

That said, I trust C7 to make it work :)

I only started playing a few weeks ago, but I'm not worried at all. It's great to have more options, as long as the LM has the strength to say "no" to any they don't want in their game. As you say, experienced players may want more choices, but there's no reason those of us who are less experienced have to use them now.

I already had Rivendell when we started making up characters, but I only let the players choose from the 6 cultures in the rulebook, plus Men of the Lake. I just didn't want any High Elves or Rangers complicating things. I'd have allowed Bree-folk and maybe Rohirrim if they'd been available, but the player would need a very good reason why their character was adventuring in Wilderland with these other folks (and in the case of a Rohir, there are issues with taking a horse around places they can't ride it). For the cultures given, there are reasons why any of them might do that.

I'm keen to see what they do with the Bree-folk. I hope they include both Men and Hobbits, but does that mean they'll have to split the culture in two somehow? 3 hobbit backgrounds and 3 human ones, maybe?

I think about this, too. I don't believe the limit is a fixed number, but rather it's a function of design space and creativity: as long as new cultures can have a unique feel, without overlapping existing cultures and...importantly...without resulting in power creep, then I think more is fine.

Me, too.

It's been over a year and the Adventurer's Companion is the only one that has not come out yet. Though there was the surprise Erebor and the 5E announcements, I wonder if Gen Con might finally be the release of AC.

Yea, I was gonna ask if it had been canceled or something. No news is not necessarily good news.....

My guess is that Adventurer's Companion's delay has something to do with syncing the cultures with the release of D&D in M-E.

Still playtesting Woses, imo.

(Or the rumored dual-wielding rules...)

EDIT: I was just looking at this thread and Blubbo had the best prediction ever: Balrog playable culture.

In the Facebook page, C7 wrote this when asked about those "unannounced titles" for TOR:

"Well, with us all proving to be nightmarish perfectionists about the Adventurers Companion, you'll need something(s) to keep you busy!"

So probably the book is already written, but they're having intern fights wether Woses should have a fix +2 to Hunt rolls or a bonus based on their Wisdom rating.

Lol. I would love it if you include Woses!

Fun, but I think it would be a sign of TOR jumping the shark, ala ICE.
