I could a little help.

I need a village name for the home of one of the Rangers in my PbP game in the Trollshaws. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

A suggestion from the Lord of the Rings online game: Thorenhad or "Fenced Place"

European FG2 RPG
Using Ultimate Fantasy Grounds - that means anyone can play.

A secret village of Rangers that is too small to show up on a map might not even have a name.

Good point. If so, it might just be referred to by the name of the most influential person that lives/lived there.
Jacob Rodgers, occasional nitwit.

The MERP adventure module Hillmen of the Trollshaws mentions the hill-fortress of Cameth Brin and the barracks-settlement of Tanoth Brin as well as the town of Talugdaeri a bit over two miles to the south. The module places Cameth Brin "about eight miles to the east of the River Mitheithel, roughly at the western border of the Trollshaws."

By 2950+ Cameth Brin should be a ruined town at best. All land's West of Misty Mountain are essentially empty, save Bree and The Shire...

I think you meant "west", but even so I don't think that's accurate. Certainly lands just west of the mountains are mostly empty, but Rivendell is, after all, the "last" homely house, not the "only" one.

Thank you, I have edited. I always have thinked that the Last Homely House is so far the only one at his time and the last to endure. There are some elves in Lindon, but they were all but invisible in the LOTR.

Here's a resource I found that suggests who the various inhabitants of Eriador might be:

That was quite interesting. Thanks for posting it, Glorelendil!
