Are These Adventures Available Anywhere?

Post by Dolarhyde » Tue Apr 07, 2015 7:55 pm

I'm sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but I didn't find anything during my search.

I think many of these adventures (or maybe all of them) were played during various Cons, but I've never seen them available for download or purchase. Are these available anywhere for download:

The Wood-Witch and the Wolf-king
The Wind from the South
A Light in the Darkness
Fell Things in the Wilderland
The Mountain Shade
Throne of Stone
In the Shire
The Brother Grim
The Yule Hunt

No. You might find someone who had a copy from a con but they are probably not going to part with it.

Is C7 allowed to sell or give them away? Or include them as bonuses with other purchases?

I believe that they haven't been through the MeE approval process and cannot be sold under terms of the license. No doubt Andrew or Jon will be along to tell us - no speculation about the license terms.

That makes sense. Can they give them out free? I can see why they might not want to do that since it represents a lot of work on the author, as well. Maybe those adventures are in the approval queue? Or have been re-worked (or being re-worked) for adventure anthologies in Moria, Wilderland, Gondor, etc.

No one who knows is telling, but it seems like the license doesn't allow sale of digital only products. That makes releasing single adventures tricky.

This is an old topic unfortunately (mentioned in numerous threads) but as yet no solution has been suggested other than asking those who attended 'X Con' to make a copy available here. iIRC the problem is one of licensing b/w Cubicle 7 & Tolkien Enterprises. I am still waiting for Con adventures from three years ago....

I think it should be easy to get them approved and sell them in a printed book. I know I'd get it.
