I don't think I've ever been quite so excited for a package. 3 One Ring dice sets and War of the Ring: Second Edition.

That looks awesome. Be sure to pop on here at some point and let us know how the game plays. I haven't got a chance to play that one yet, but I'm sure with Francesco and Marco behind it, it's got to be pretty good (FWIW I've got a pretty cool board game called
Marvel Heroes that Francesco and Marco designed, too).
Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

If it's anything like the Collectors Edition, it is awesome. First play did take nine hours, though.

Once you know the rules, games should take between 2.5 - 3 hrs (but long games are possible!).

Oh yeah, that was with taking out all the nice miniatures and looking at everything and explaining the rules showing it off to everybody who came by and all that stuff. The second game went much faster.

I have the first edition, along with the expansion. I love that game!

I got it for Christmas.

I have played it online though. There is a good online client out there.

I've only played once Battle of Five Armies and once War of the Ring, but both are gorgeous games. Luckily I played them with an experienced player, and both games lasted for 3-4 hours (Battle was a little shorter, I think).
Rules are not so complex as it may seem. It's just that there are always so many options, and so few dices of action...

I've played the 1st Edition a lot - great game.
Is the 2nd edition any different?

I have not yet had the chance to play 2nd ed, but they improved the game (after thousands of players and thousands of games, they had a much better sense of weaknesses).
They made certain strategies more viable, while balancing certain strategies that were too "obvious" (for example, in the 1st edition after the expansion, the new version of the Witch King never made sense to use).
