My Favorite Game

Post by Glorelendil » Fri May 01, 2015 5:43 pm

OMG somebody start a thread on something thought-provoking and subtle. The forums are slow today. Journeys and Maps conjecture? Obscure rule clarification? Adventure ideas? Argument in favor of dual-wielding Black Numenorean wizards as player-heroes? Great deal on a Kitchen remodel?

And remember what your mother told you: "If you can't think of anything nice to say, you may as well go and comment on Glorelendil's Delving rules."

I've been so busy lately, I haven't had a chance to do much of anything on the forum. I did, however, get a chance to play a session of TOR online the other night using azrapse's chat feature. I was the Loremaster and I had one friend as a player-hero. It worked out nicely. He travelled from Woodman-town to the Forest Gate on his way to the Woodland Realm. It was then he was attacked by Orc archers. It took him quite a few rounds by himself, but he eventually killed the three of them. He is heading to Thranduil's palace to celebrate and hear the stories of the defeat of the Werewolf of Mirkwood by Orophal. Of course, things aren't going to be as nice as he's expecting...

Now that we've played online, I think I have a much better chance at playing more often. We played from about 10:30pm to 1:00am, Arizona time. If those times work for anyone out there, just let me know and I'll try to set you up for our next game.

Mine too.

Been sick (and very stressed out regarding big thing at real work too).

Other than that, just waiting for actions from my players (hint, hint).
Jacob Rodgers, occasional nitwit.

I'd like to see more discussion on the idea of a wiki. I don't know anything about setting one up, but I'm going to look into it. Perhaps others out there are far more computer/internet savvy than I.

I agree Jamesrbrown. I would never have gotten to play if it weren't for online play. We've been using Fantasy Grounds for about 10 months and it works really well. I know others have used Roll 20. You should check those out.

I was playing in Hermes Serpent's game on roll20, but with move, new job, and a toddler I don't have time for scheduled, synchronous play. So it's just PbP for me. Which in some ways (i.e. time to conceive and compose) is a great venue.

That's definitely a handful. I hear ya. I wish I could do more writing for TOR, but all I've got are spare moments here and there. I have lots of material that sits unfinished on my computer. If I can complete some of it soon, I'll post it up and hopefully it will be a blessing to somebody out there.

We played this past Monday night. I'll make a special post when our next game is happening.

My apologies for the last (bolded) bit... being stupid and cranky and oblivious.

Outstanding LMs are allowed a bit of crankiness. In fact it's almost expected, like eccentricity for Oxford dons.
