There's a whole Instagram account dedicated to old book smells. Why not new books too? Of course we all do it. (on a related note, emojis need a "swooning" face).

My copy came and it's gorgeous.

I know a feller who can tell you where a book was printed from the smell of the ink. I thought that was pretty weird until I developed the ability to tell which printer c7 used for which book from the smell of the ink...

The first thing I do is bury my face in the book as I crack it open and breath in the new book smell*. Then I look at the cool art.

:-)

You are not alone. Luckily for me, my wife is enough of a bibliophile that she doesn't give me odd looks when I do it.

I'm still waiting. I'm really looking forward to smelling and reading the physical copy!

Turns.a out I was wrong in a big way. In mid May I said we could expect to wait another three weeks or so to get our copies in the UK. Boy was I wrong. Mine turned up this morning looking lovely and smelling great (for those of you inclined that way)

I am adding to the growing list of happy UK people; the long-expected parcel arrived today!

Brilliant - it's the best start to the holiday weekend. It's a very obvious thing to write, but the physical copy is so much more of a thrill to read than the pdf. I love it. My hard copy has some beautiful strong colours in the pictures and these are even more impressive in the hard copy: THANK YOU to all the Art team: Andy, Jon,Sam, Jeremy and Jan.

(I am going to try and go through just looking at the art next, but all the titles and headings keep catching my eye.)

:D

This is probably an obvious question, but for those that have the book, is it hard cover or soft cover?

Hardcover. I doubt we will see any softcover books anymore, unless they are part of some sort of larger set.

Just finished reading through all the book.
One question arises:
Is the guy /Are the guys responsible for the last two adventures (What Lies Beneath and Shadows Over Tyrn Gorthad) hired from Chaosium or some other Cthulhu publisher?

They're really creepy, and with all the "book reasearch to find an ancient ritual" stuff, I think the players will feel like they're losing their sanity to the Mythos and the Old Ones!!
