I think either is fine, and it will be faster to change Walfred and Radegund than all the others.

These look great. It should be very helpful to new players.

Quick post event follow up post.

Thanks for all the help and advice. I ended up running only one session of the Theft of the Moon. I had 4 players. The event is fairly new and not well attended and the second planned session was canceled due to lack of players. I had a great time and hopefully represented the game well. They promised to ask me back the next time they run the event. It ws good to see the players get into their characters some and play around with the skill tests at the festival. One player suggested an impromptu game of hide and seek which I ran as an opposed test where one player used stealth to hide and the other players used hunting, search, or awareness to find him. We played three rounds and the winner was the one who had the most successes.

The group caught up with the thieves before they reached the Fallrock and we regained the Sickle there.

Once again thanks for the help.

Cool. Sorry to hear that there weren't so many attendees, but that's part of getting the word out. I promise next year I'll be even better situated to help you out. And it sounds like the players enjoyed the game, so hopefully the word will spread...

Nicely done, Wb. It's okay to start small and grow from there. The first CCG tournament I held (back in the mid 90s) had only 4 players, but each time after that it grew, until eventually I didn't have enough seating for all of them! My biggest was something like 93 players, and it all grew from that first event with only four!

[I say that only to encourage you to not be disappointed with a small group of players; I don't expect you'll have 90-some players for an RPG any time soon] :)
Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

It was a good learning experience for me too. Interesting to see how the players handled the Tolkienesque atmosphere. I had a player slip off during the encounter with Rathwulf and break in to his room. He found a bag of foreign coins linking him to the Viglundings. The player then snagged the coins for himself. I later had Ava ask if he had found any evidence in Rathwulf's room. Begrudgingly he handed over the coins. Several players also wanted to upgrade their equipment from the Vinlunding thralls they defeated. I tried to explain that the game was not so much about loot and gear, but I'm not certain I completely got the idea across.

I did hear one player remark afterwards, " It was fun, kinda crunchy. Don't think I would buy it." But to each his own I guess.
