My original solution was to allow "Study" which gave the character 2 advancement points, and "Training" which gave a 1 XP discount on advancing a weapon skill that Fellowship Phase. Once I did that, I started seeing fewer Heal Corruption Choices.
This combined with reducing Heal Corruption to 1, 2, and 3 is a beautiful solution. I love you idea of adding ways of gaining advancement. It makes sense that even though one might return home, they might choose to continue training or learning,

Because Germanic Anglo-Saxons and Norse are included in Scottish culture. Any more it's all one big happy family of axe wielding, ale drinking, beard growing countrymen.

According to Wikipedia:
The book Three Hearts and Three Lions by Poul Anderson strongly influenced Dungeons & Dragons, having a dwarf named Hugi with a Scottish accent
This could be the source of the accent.
European FG2 RPG
Using Ultimate Fantasy Grounds - that means anyone can play.

I read that book once, on my quest to understand Paladins better. It's an interesting read. I recommend it.

It also has a variation of 'Eye Awareness' in that book. Holger, the Paladin hero, is pretty much immune to most things that go wrong till he has an impious thought, then trouble hits.
