Escaping Combat II

Since I did not want to necro the old post, I ask this again.

Has it been officially answered wether or not a PC may attack before trying his Athletics test to escape combat?

Its in the RAW, Table: Tasks in Combat p.179 of the revised rulebook, where it actually has a column "May attack as well?", the answer is no! (Only Protect Companion allows an attack as well)
