Mountains of Mirkwood

Post by Khamul » Thu May 09, 2013 12:34 pm

On the maps I have been looking at there are only one mountain area but on the TOR maps there are 2 areas, one above the Old Forest Road and one below. Is it the creativity of the artist or is it something I missed?

In some of the MERP maps the mountains ranged to parts below the Men-i-Naugrim.
You would be safe playing it as high hills I think

BTW, it does appear to be artistic license because the Tolkien maps that I've seen all display the mountains to the north of the road. This can be pretty cool, however, because it gives you the option of writing something for that area - expands your game, so to speak.

In TOR they're called the Haunted Hills, and get some coverage in the upcoming The Heart of the Wild.

I could really use the upcoming "The Heart of the Wild" book for tomorrow's game. I am about to send the group I am running toward the "Haunted Hills" and maybe into them. They decided amongst their selves that they want to go back for the stump dwelling "you know who" from Don't Leave the Path. So I cannot make it simple for them. ;)

While I have been playing RPG for well over twenty years, I've always seemed to adopt a system when core rules and supplements were already available. This is the first time I actually have to wait for additional modules to come out... And the wait is killing me!!!

Like most here, I can't wait for news, or better yet, a little visual preview... How about a little tease... Jon? Francesco? Anyone? Anyone?... ;)
