Personally, I've been hoping that The Adventurer's Companion would see release before Horse-lords of Rohan. Here are the official descriptions for both books:

The Adventurer’s Companion – The first supplement aimed squarely at players. Including a whole wealth of advice, ideas and background for making your own hero and company, as well as new Heroic Cultures including Bree-folk, Riders of Rohan, Dwarves of the Blue Mountain, the Elves of Lorien and People of Gondor, a new Calling in the form of the Captain, and expanded rules for generational play.

Horse-lords of Rohan – This setting supplement takes us south along the Anduin and into the land of the Rohirrim, where we explore not only the culture and lands of the Riders of Rohan, but also their rivals the Dunlendings. We’ll also venture into the depths of Fangorn Forest and into Isengard itself.

There does seem as though there might be a bit of redundancy between the two regarding the Culture of the Riders of Rohan.

Er-Murazor, best place to know what is coming up (even if It can and has changed in the past) is here -

http://www.cubicle7.co.uk/our-games/the ... -schedule/

Currently the following are expected -
◦The Adventurer’s Companion – The first supplement aimed squarely at players.

We’ll also venture into the depths of Fangorn Forest and into Isengard itself.

◦Oaths of the Riddermark – an adventure anthology for Rohan.

◦Journeys and Maps – a deluxe set of Middle-earth game maps and a guide to travel for The One Ring

That is where I got the descriptions I quoted, timb, but I don't know that we can rely on the order there in which the upcoming releases are listed.

I even made a homebrew of Rohan myself - I might post it up here later on, we'll see. If you need campaign/adventure ideas, I'm more than happy to throw a few out there.
Interesting. For background, cultures and such, I only use "official" stuff. But for stories and adventures, I'm all for it, so if you have some stuff to share, it would be great. :)

Sure thing. One idea I had was for some sort of Rohirric 'Crusade' against the Dunlings. However, as soon as almost all of the Rohirrim have mobilized to the west, a band of orcs attacks from the Misty Mountains. The players need to defend... Something or someone until help can be summoned.

If I recall my lore correctly, the Rohirrim were descended from the Bardings. I'm sure you could weave an adventure around their relations; perhaps the diplomatic relations have been soured by agents of Sauron who intercept and change communiqués?

Alternately, you could start with something more 'mundane;' involving rounding up or finding a stallion that the king considers good stock with which to breed. Of course, if you wanted, you could introduce lots of plot twists like adding Orc raiding parties, Saruman, and Dunlings into the mix.

These are just some ideas, of course; feel free to do with them what you will. If you like any of them, let me know :)

Not exactly. The Rohirrim (and Eotheod before them), Bardings, and Lakemen are all descended from the people of Rhovanion. Some of the Northmen have Dúnedain blood going back to the days of Rómendacil II (possibly even before if you think about it). Of course, they are all (even the Dúnedain) descended from the House of Marach (later known as The House of Hador).

Ah, thanks! I must have misread that somewhere. So the House of Marach would have been part of Numenor?

EDIT:
I misread them 'having kinship' with the Bardings and Beornings (Aragorn, the Two Towers) as them 'being descendant' from the Bardings. My mistake entirely, thanks ^_^

Hey :)

And it's Tim ;) (the b is part of my surname and my first ever username on a forum was timb, so I carried on the tradition)
