The One Ring Character Cards
Re: The One Ring Character Cards
So let's spitball here: how would the cards be laid out? Big picture with name/title on the front and stats/notes on the back? Wouldn't need more than the tables from the source books so surely there will be room for notes and flavor text.

I love the way West End Games did it for their Star Wars D6 RPG.
They were sized like playing cards, with nine to a sheet, and perforated, so you could separate them yourself. The fronts were entirely the beautiful images (they did painted ones or photos; obviously here is where Hodgson's wonderful art would go), and the back would have simple game statistics.

Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

Got your PM! We're rotating some time out after GenCon/Kickstarter frenzy, so apologies for the slow response.
In general we're working 18 months to 2 years ahead of the supplements you get to see now, so often we're already well ahead on ideas that are suggested. Sometimes there are a whole raft of reasons why we can't put suggestions into practice, some of which we can talk about but more which we can't!
Oh and thanks for the kind words about the art!

Thank you for the response, I understand completely. By the way, your art really is inspirational. I've gone back to my artwork because of you, curse you

I'm going to optimistically interpret Jon's comment as saying that they might already have something like this in the pipeline. Other opinions?

I even like the idea of having no name or anything on the front, just the artwork, so that its easier for GM's to call the characters whatever they want if they need a pic for an NPC.shipwreck wrote:So let's spitball here: how would the cards be laid out? Yeah, the old WEG cards were great. I never got to see them in person, but I've seen plenty of pictures and such.Majestic wrote:I love the way West End Games did it for their Star Wars D6 RPG.

Great to see that they read these forums!
I'm hoping they produce, much like Fantasy Flight has for its Star Wars games, a starter kit.
Would include:
Some dice
Light version of the rules
Simple adventure
Pre-gen characters
Would allow new players to try the game before becoming addicted like some skank headed gamer that the rest of us have become! Must resist Rohan book . . . oh f**k it, I'M BUYING BABY!

That would be pretty neat. What do you envision the sample adventure being like? Where would it be set? What would happen in it?
