The One Ring Character Cards
Another idea. Who would be interested in C7 producing a series of character cards, similar to the ones put out by Pathfinder, but illustrated by Jon Hodgson? It was his artwork that prompted me to buy the books in the first place (and the mechanics that kept me interested), and I would love to see his rendition of a selection of NPC's (or PC's, for that matter) from across Middle Earth.
Would anyone else be interested in this?

Re: The One Ring Character Cards
I would buy anything with John Hodgson's the One Ring art on it!
I never found the character cards for pathfinder that useful however, I always just found it easier to display an npc picture on my tablet. I would however like some official stance cards or maybe cards that summarised traits and other useful game rule information.
Most of all I would love a board game style card stock, double sided travel and battle board with some wonderful art and game rules.

That would also be really nice. The stance cards I'm using are color coded, which is one of the most useful devices known to mankind. If the do make stance cards (which I would prefer to a battle board, since I use minis and mini terrain), they NEED to be color coded!Jacen wrote:I would buy anything with John Hodgson's the One Ring art on it!![]()

Yeah, it's certainly easier and cheaper to use a Google image for an NPC, but I feel Jon could do justice to a very many characters the way no one else can. Anyways, what's your favorite illustration in the core book (2nd ed)? Mine is the lady giving directions to the Barding with the map at the very beginning. Is so... Middle Earth.

Cards, please! I tried cutting and pasting from PDFs to make monster reference cards (ala Descent) but I kind of gave up. Cards with NPC faces would be very handy. I use Hobbit Tales sometimes for general purposes and when I need a pic of an NPC I just cut one out of the sourcebooks (not literally) and pass the iPad around. Having a physical card, made specifically for TOR, would be way better.

Yeah; C7 could reuse some of the art from their existing books, but I'd like to see a slew of brand new art that could be used for unique non-pregen adventures/campaigns too. Jon has no problem imbuing character into his work, and I can see entire adventures spawned off of a card or two. They could have a pack of cards (or two or three... Players, NPC's, and Creatures of the Shadow?) to come with every setting, so one for the Wilderland, one for Gondor/Rohan, one for Eriador, etc. Maybe split Gondor/Rohan into two?shipwreck wrote:Cards, please! Come on, C7, get on it!

I think something like this would be outstanding!
Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

It's difficult for me to decide. I really like a lot of the images from the combat sections that show the company squaring off against legions of orcs, they really capture that intense feeling of a desperate battle.TheMonarchGamer wrote:That would also be really nice. I'm also a big fan of the cover on the second edition book.

Yeah, all the combat pics are great. The calling pics are also fantastic. As is the cover.

Re: The One Ring Character Cards
Does anyone know a way to bring this to C7's attention? Or do they peruse the forums for ideas?

They generally are very aware of the discussion on this forum. They do a great job of interacting with folks here too.
