I especially love that skill for riddlegames, and solving labyrinths or any puzzle. I more like the roleplaying of it, than the mechanics of the skill, rolling the skill and succeding is abit more boring than setting a question for a player to come up with the answer himself. But i guess, some players want their character to be good at it, but they have a hard time with it themselves.

Or another way of looking at it is that it's hard...and in my opinion it often feels overly contrived...to have meaningfully challenging puzzles (or mini-games) inside the game. As for playing the riddle-game, chances are that anything the LM (GM/DM/etc.) knows is something at least one player already knows, and if not then there's a good possibility it's either trivially easy, ridiculously hard, or just plain bad. Pick two.

Riddle is a great "secondary skill" to use when someone isn't skilled in something

For instance, the situation calls for a Hunting roll at TN 14 but no one has the skill- I would allow a Riddle roll at TN 16 (at least) to "figure out the answer

I regard Riddle as second in importance behind only Travel because it can be used in many situations
