Looking for a player, maybe 2

Post by Wbweather » Tue Nov 10, 2015 3:46 pm

Hey all. We have an ongoing game that has been running Thursday nights 8:30-11:00 CST for the last year and a half. We play using the Fantasy Grounds client. I own an ultimate license and so players do not need to purchase anything. We are working through DoM and Tales. We are just finishing Watch on the Health, the last adventure in Tales and will be proceeding with DoM from the year 2953 onward. Unfortunately we are losing a player. Our core group of players has been in since the start. We currently have a Woodsman, and Mirkwood elf, and two Bardings. We would like to recruit a player or two to join us. Let me know if you have an interest

Just wanted to put a plug in for just how great an experience playing in this campaign is for me (I'm the Mirkwood pew-pew Elf scholar-my Lore 3 just came in handy in our current Watch on the Heath) on a variety of levels to encourage one (or two) to join us.

(1) Fantasy Ground/Teamspeak client: while I think FtF/PnP is the way to go, I have been delighted at how rich the experience has been using this format to play and how close it emulates the FtF experience from rolling dice to chararacter sheets to images posted to using the chat box for both OOC talk/IC action, FG. The interface is fantastic. Teamspeak as the voice works pretty well, despite the inability to see peoples faces and such.

(2) The LM: Wbweather runs an excellent, exciting, and tight game. He is always prepared in advance and does a grand job at playing the NPCs and not being either too "mean" (trying to kill us) or too "soft" (telling us what to do in every situation and making combat a push over). He is very committed and reliable and easy to play with and is open to feedback and constructive critique.

(3) The PC's: We have a great group of players who are all very mature adults, committed to RP'ing in Tolkien's world, and focused on playing and not goofing around talking about non-TOR/game related stuff. We are not the most experienced RP'ers and are growing (we've been playing for about a year now I think), but we work well together in the sense that we make sure everybody gets to participate and do something important/heroic in every evening/encounter. We show up weekly when we all can (we'll postpone a week if we don't really have almost everybody) and are very committed to "being there"

So if you think you can commit on a regular basis, love TOR/Tolkien as much as we do, and willing to "fill out" our company of "Tall people" as a dwarf and/or hobbit, please PM Wbweather ASAP.

You're making me jealous! Wish I could swing it, but I'm too far out of the time zone. Have fun, I hope you get someone (or two) good!
