The Forsaken Inn

I like that as well Dunheved.
Re: The Forsaken Inn
Thanks for the comments for my attempt at a backstory. They are appreciated.
I've got to say that getting Journeys & Maps this week prompted me a lot. The suggestions for buildings etc in there are just a inspiring set of seed points. Kudos to the writing team of J&M for exercising the grey cells.

We know so little, but there's certainly no contradictions that I'm aware of. It does help explain some of the lingering concerns... even if someone tries to restablish the inn, there's bad omens around it. Folks might not remember the details, but they know that place is cursed.Dunheved wrote:How well does this match the canon as written?
Works for me, great job!

Re: The Forsaken Inn
Adventure idea (or, really, campaign sub-theme): the Forsaken Inn is cursed in some way, and before it can be re-opened successfully the curse must be lifted. But doing so involves the heroes in a larger menace.zedturtle wrote:We know so little, but there's certainly no contradictions that I'm aware of. Re: The Forsaken Inn
The Forsaken Inn doesn't have to be any more forsaken than the Green Dragon is a dragon or the Prancing Pony a pony.
Re: The Forsaken Inn
Such a name is not really apalling. The Last Inn would be more smart.
Nothing of Worth.

Re: The Forsaken Inn
I agree with what you posted here, though I don't think it's what you meant. Did you mean to write 'appealing'? For my part, the Forsaken Inn has a nice ring to it. The Last Inn is a bit drab (and If you are coming from the East then it would be the First Inn).Terisonen wrote:Such a name is not really apalling.

Re: The Forsaken Inn
I think Terisonen is coming at from a "what would an innkeeper really name this inn" instead of total evocativeness. Your point is valid, maybe they have a double-sided sign?Otaku-sempai wrote:I agree with what you posted here, though I don't think it's what you meant. Did you mean to write 'appealing'? Re: The Forsaken Inn
Well, the Forsaken Inn was probably not the establishment's original name--and even in later years it might have been more of a nickname and not its official appellation. It might be that, regardless of what it is called by the current owner(s), locals and other regulars still know it and refer to it as the Forsaken Inn.
