Heart/Darkening Fears

Post by Nicholee » Fri Oct 04, 2013 3:31 pm

I have been extremely pleased with the content of the Heart of the Wild PDF and was even more excited to hold the beautiful hardcover book in my hand this week!

I am in the midst of writing up some quests based on the materials but I have some fears of using some of the content. I am afraid that if I improperly use some of the more seemingly important people or areas that I may hinder my ability to take this company on the quests in the Darkening of Mirkwood campaign books.

Anyone else have tips for working around this? Or any reassurances from Cubicle 7 that if I reveal what the Path of Serpents (P. 27) leads to I won't be breaking a future quest?

Excellent - And hopefully with the Viglundings as well?

I don't have the PDF right now but I think it says Viglundings are an important theme in the Darkening of Mirkwood. I remember reading a warning about this in the book.
Of Finarfin's children I am the last. But my heart is still proud. What wrong did the golden house of Finarfin do that I should ask the pardon of the Valar, or be content with an isle in the sea whose native land was Aman the Blessed? Here I am mightier.

Correct!

Here is what the book says on p. 29 (hopefully I'm not transgressing with this simple quote ;) ):

Conflict between Viglund and the Beornings is a key element in The Darkening of Mirkwood.
