Post Your Heroes Here!
Re: Post Your Heroes Here!
Of course, my favourite character if I were to play (not LM) TOR would be a Mirkwood or Lórien Archer Elf. But I guess my choice of character would be so typical (a kind of Haldir, who ventures out of the boundaries of his kingdom) that I don't find it interesting to post here.
But I had a very good time creating Otto Sackville-Baggins for a forum play (that sadly didn't last long) when I barely knew the mechanics of the game. I guess that him is a far more fun character than a wood-elf that shoots arrows and sings songs!

“I am Aodh.
Yes, just Aodh. It is my only name. I have not earned another yet. My people have lived in these hills since before time, since before the thieving straw-heads came, since before even the wicked sea-kings before them.
My father is Caomh the Owl. He is descended from Bradan, and so I am, too. Surely you know of Bradan Kingbane. Everybody knows that he challenged the king of the sea people to single combat, and fought him for 17 days and 17 nights.
He was only defeated because his Elvish servants used foul sorcery. And even then he stole the sea king’s magic stone and escaped. That’s why the elves turned him into a beetle, and why the bradanbeetles come out to sing their lament every 17 years...once for each day and night they fought.
What? Oh you think you’re clever don’t you? Bradan had his three daughters before the elves turned him into a beetle, of course.
Many of my people think that is only a story, but they are fools and goats. We were once a great people...and we could be again...but the others think only of stealing horses and cattle. So I keep to myself. I like to live in the hills and watch the the Forgoil. I even cross the river, and they never see me.
Well, sometimes they do. That She-witch is a crafty one, and she caught me once. Only because I got careless, though. She was a fool for not killing me, and I am angry because now when I have a chance to kill her I will have to let her live. The first time, anyway. I only we her a life-debt once, so I will have to capture her twice.
The Forgoil fought over what to do with me that time. I couldn’t understand everything they said, but I think the straw-heads like to argue about who is in charge. My father said their last king was weak, and that’s why they bicker, but their new king is stronger and that could mean trouble for us.
No, they didn’t “let” me go. I escaped, of course.
Although perhaps one of them helped me. I don’t know why. Perhaps he was a forest spirit in the guise of a straw-head. Or maybe not all of the Forgoil are wicked. I think about that sometimes. Some of my people are wicked, and have acted with dishonor, but most of us are not like that. If he was indeed Forgoil then I owe him a debt, too. Perhaps I shall find him and settle that debt.
I should like to learn about people beyond our lands. They say the great road used to see travelers from the north and south, and all manner of strange peoples would cross our land. I have known some Dwarves, and they are an odd people, quick to take offense, but true to their word, and with long, mournful songs, beautiful in the way a fine axe-head is beautiful.
What other folk are out there?
Some day I shall have to see for myself.”

Re: Post Your Heroes Here!
Since we're doing Magical Treasure, I'll post what I have for Curulon! I have some other items aside from Annúngil and The Ring of Hissael, which you'll see below!
FAMOUS WEAPONS AND ARMOUR
Item: Annúngil
Type: Long-sword
Craftsmanship: Númenórean
Banes: Orcs, Undead
Qualities:
1. Superior Grievous 2. Raging 3. Foe-slaying
Like Lara mentioned with Ringil, in my vision Annúngil remains true to its name and does seemingly appear to 'glow' during the night, as if a star had come down from the heavens to dwell on the earth. I don't think it would actually glow, more of that subtle magic that goes into crafting a Famous Weapon that would appear to be more of a great magic to those who are not attuned to its sight, such as the High Elves or members of the Wise.
Item: Minluzîr
Type: Great Bow
Craftsmanship: Númenórean
Banes: Evil Men, Trolls
Qualities:
1. Superior Fell 2. Sure Shot 3. Superior Grievous
Minluzîr, which means "sky-friend" in Adûnaic, is not as iconic to Curulon as Annúngil is, but would he possess a second Famous Weapon, it would be this Númenórean steelbow. I imagine it to have a deep blue color, with silver accents along the limbs, especially at the nocks.
Item: Braces of Belegost
Type: Leather Vambraces*
Craftsmanship: Dwarven
Banes: n/a
Qualities:
1. Ancient Close Fitting 2. Rune-scored Armour 3. -
*In most of my games, we make use of the additional weapons and armour house rules found in Rich H's Additional Character Rules, thus explaining the use of vambraces.
WONDROUS ARTEFACTS
The Ring of Hissael
A ring of silvered steel inlaid with gold, bearing the head of a great bird with emerald gems set upon its eyes that bestows upon the wearer eyesight as keen as a hawk (a Blessing to Awareness).
Scabbard of Westernesse
A sword scabbard wrapped in dark blue leathers with silver metal accents and emblazoned with imagery of ancient Númenór. When a blade is drawn from this scabbard, all who gaze upon it are compelled to recognize the mighty presence of the bearer (a Blessing to Awe).

Re: Post Your Heroes Here!
Now that Horse-Lords of Rohan is here, I can finally post my second Legendarium character, Éoheort! Next to the Dúnedain of the North, the Rohirrim are my favorite culture of Men, and I've long been waiting to play a Rohir in The One Ring, officially.
I first made Éoheort formally years ago when The Lord of the Rings Online years ago, and I've used him in a variety of other roleplay scenarios aside from that. In most incarnations, he's been a rider in the éored of Éomer, being that he's from Aldburg. With The One Ring's earlier setting, he's now a rider in the éored of Esmund, Éomer's grandfather. So, still a connection to his other incarnations, just a bit earlier in the timeline!
First up, here is his backstory as he exists in The One Ring!
Visually, I forgoed my usual methods of picking a representation of characters through actor face claims, and instead looked to the wonderful concept art for the Riders of Rohan expansion of The Lord of the Rings Online. I took a number of different pieces and combined parts from them all to achieve the look I wanted.

My girlfriend intends to play her Rohirrim, Éofled - similarly from Aldburg and of Esmund's éored. We have had some talks of them becoming involved romantically, but such things will surely develop once we can formally play. She hasn't yet officially created her in The One Ring, but I edited art for her, as well!

We're both very excited to play these characters, and eagerly await Oaths of the Riddermark!

First up, here is his backstory as he exists in The One Ring!
I incorporated details from his background package - Fey and Dangerous - as well as his Slayer calling, and I think they both work fairly well. I gave a little background to his Horsetailed Helm, as well, since he'd start with that specific Reward. I might expand on this history somewhat, but for now, I think it will suffice!Éoheort, Son of Éobrand, was born in T.A. 2935 in the Eastfold settlement of Aldburg. The eldest of four children, Éoheort grew up learning the ways of horsemanship from his father, a gifted horse-herd that bred many of Aldburg’s valiant steeds. He learned the way of the sword and shield as a boy, and he was gifted with a horse of his very own on his 12th birthday. Éoheort named him Ethelwine, meaning “noble-friend” in the tongue of his people, and horse and rider soon became like brothers.
When Éoheort came of age in T.A. 2951, he entered the service of Esmund, son of the late Third Marshal of the Mark, Edwin. Wishing to do his part in defending his beloved country, he joined with Esmund’s éored, knowing that it was the most renowned and active of the Eastfold. On more than one occasion, Éoheort rode to the far reaches of the Eastemnet with the éored to guard against invaders and outlaws and in T.A. 2953 he accompanied the éored to Edoras, where he witnessed the crowning of Thengel King.
During his years of continued service in the éored of Esmund, Éoheort grew to become a valiant and fierce warrior, never shying away from the battle-fury that comes upon the warriors of the Mark. As a reward for his deeds, he was given a helm crested with great plumes of horse hair, and he pledged to lead his fellow riders through a bold example.
In T.A. 2957, Éoheort’s younger brother Éomód, a rider in a smaller éored of the East-mark, was killed by orcs while patrolling near the borders of the White Mountains. Stricken with grief, Éoheort returned to Aldburg to mourn the passing of his brother, all the while swearing vengeance upon the orcs that felled his kin. With the blessing of Esmund, Éoheort and his younger sister Éohild, a shieldmaiden, took a company of riders from his éored and rode down the orcish host, slaughtering them upon the plains.
In the years since his brother’s passing Éoheort has continued to ride in the éored of Esmund, now with his sister counted amongst the riders. As Thengel King strives to redeem the honor squandered by his father, so does Éoheort strive to gain renown slaying those who threaten the Riddermark. With sword in hand and Ethelwine to carry him, he rides each day with a determination worthy of the songs that fill the halls of Edoras.

Re: Post Your Heroes Here!
Well, I got inspired today and sat down to draw how I envision Annúngil. I based the design primarily on both Andúril and Isildur's sword from the film adaptations of The Lord of the Rings, while the colors come from the cultural crest for the Rangers of the North.Curulon wrote:Item: Annúngil

I'm guessing that this was a reference to the spamming that was taking place a little while ago. It seems to have been cleared up now.Curulon wrote:Eh, what?Glorelendil wrote:It's nice to see that TOR has found its way to Namibia!

The spammer even set his location to Namibia.
