I think Robin has some fear that the PDF might be sold out if he waits for too long
And the "special offer" IMO is that you have it out

Jon, would be possible to publish some preview pages to feast the eyes on and lift the hearts of those doomed to wait for translated editions?

Cubicle Seven, I congratulate you on your splendid timing on this release, because my party JUST finished their sojourn into Rohan and Fangorn Forest last night!

Their NPC guide became a romantic interest for the Barding PC, and she will now be accompanying the party all the way to Dale, so I ended up filling out a character sheet for her. I'll be curious to see how the Cultural Blessing, Reward and Virtue I gave her compare with the official ones!

Do you play NPCs as full "non-player-heroes" with their own combat and skill rolls? Or do they just play supporting roles for players, sort of like Hound of Mirkwood?

Gone for two days and it goes from no news to the book being released (on pdf)!

I mean, not that I don't appreciate it. But it was kind of a shock. Was expecting some months of teasing the release. C7 certainly has an unusual market strategy.

But don't take me wrong. I am delighted the book is available for pdf order, and I am looking forward to read it really soon.

Hi Glorelendil! In my TfW campaign, there haven't been too many situations just yet where NPCs were fighting alongside the PCs so closely as to warrant full character sheets of their own. So far there have been only two NPCs who I felt needed full character sheets: Bofri, who accompanied my PCs into Mirkwood in search of the Beacon-Tower; and now Freya, their half-Dunlending guide through Rohan, who was actually in the employ of Saruman the White. (Edit: I used robert_pat's new fan-created Refugee calling for her, and it fits really well with the character.) I used ICE's Rohan setting and got some inspiration from their description of the belligerent and avaricious King Fengel, who was still on the throne in 2948. I wanted a combat that might have more plot repercussions than just a bunch of Wargs, so I posited Fengel's "Border Patrol" bands roaming over the Eastfold, demanding tribute from native folk and travelers alike in exchange for their half-hearted efforts to defend the kingdom from Wargs, Easterlings, and other external threats.
My PCs have some pretty sweet gear, most of which they got from the Beacon-Tower, and any one of their superior weapons would have been the prize of the year for that Border Patrol. Also, I gave Freya the guide a serious personal grudge against the BP leader, Eoric. I think I used the stats for Valter and his bandit warriors for Eoric and his companions. I had combat stats for Freya for that combat, but it was only when the player of the Barding said that his character would be interested in continuing the romance that I gave her a full character sheet. I was able to very nicely turn it into a big reason for Freya to want to get outta Dodge now that she's had her revenge on Eoric! (I made their return journey north around Fangorn Forest into a very amusing adventure involving the Hobbit PC, hallucinogenic mushrooms, an evil Huorn, and its Wild Men of Mirk- er,
Fangorn thralls.)
At that time, I wasn't sure how long she would be with them and how much of their journey from Rhosgobel to Dale they wanted me to make into an adventure, and I'm also not sure whether she will accompany them on Crossings of Celduin. As it turned out, after their Fangorn adventure, they were eager to get to Dale, so I hand-waved over their trip through Mirkwood and will start the next session with them on the approach to Esgaroth. I'm toying with the idea of opening up my table to one more player if they want to play Freya.

Hi Farinal,
Sorry for the delayed reply!
Amazon receive their stock at the same time as all other retailers. Beyond that we don't have any insight into when, where, how much and so on.

Hello fellow gamers! This is way more than a set of rules for horsemanship. It includes two new playable cultures, descriptions of Fangorn, Isengard, Rohan, places like Helm's Deep and Orthanc, new NPCs, adventure hooks, and of course more beasts!
The region is so different from Wilderland that it feels like a brand new game. So, pre-order your hard copy of Horse-lords of Rohan here on C7 and get the pdf for free! You'll be so glad you did.
