"Grim of Aspect" leapt out at me, too. Awesome, awesome Virtue.
I'm excited to play a Dunlending.

How long until someone has a wiseacre (see what I did there?) player who wants to play an Ent?

You know what I love most about these sourcebooks? The little (or big) ways in which they provide options for characters and tweaking the system. I mean, everything else is cool, but they really show you how to tailor The One Ring to your needs. For example, you can spend time studying with the Ents (if you forge a good relationship with them) to learn lores of beast and bough, or how to listen to the natural world as they do. Stuff like that is awesome! And it goes beyond what you do with "just" accumulating experience points.
The book has so much good stuff in it I've only begun to scratch the surface, but I just wanted to remark on one feature I particularly enjoyed.

Another spectacular product from C7. The background, artwork and content are all wonderful but it's the fact that it's so inspiring for new story ideas! Tough to have to wait so long for this but the quality is absolutely undeniable!

Uh, I wouldn't mind it...
As for horses... no rules for Dwarven War Ponies... and no entry on the horseflesh table for ponies proper, either. Nor donkeys nor mules. Jim will be sore disappointed that Birok's mighty axe will still have to be wielded from on foot...

I haven't had a lot of reading time since it was released. I read the new cultures first, then skimmed the section on horses, and now I've gone back to the beginning and am making my way forward.
What strikes me is how well this supplement leaves behind the Hobbit and fairytale style of the Wilderland materials and seems like a more mature Lord of the Rings game. I'm not yet sure what's different; perhaps the characters and cultures live in more of a morally gray area than do those of Wilderland.
I'm also glad to see that the writers make clear the difference between who uses Sindarin names like Rohan and who uses (translated) native names like {i]Riddermark.[/i]
The use of Celtic culture and names as the basis of the Dunlendings was well done, paralleling real history.

Also (unless I've overlooked it) I see no notes on Elven-bred horses.

No, but now that we have core horse(wo)manship rules, other supplements can easily insert new types of mounts. Sort of like now that we have rules for magic items from Rivendell, new adventures/supplements can include examples of such.
