I dont know why those kitchen furniture spammers are obsessed with this forum.

It's an attempt to cash in on the fine, artisanal Hobbit woodworking fandom.

This is positively ridiculous. Light the beacons of Mod-dor!

If I had a burner credit card, I'd pay these folks for an essay on 'How to apply Tolkien's thoughts on free will to playing The One Ring' with the requirements that it take my false starts as a basis and end up with at least twenty pages and have at least a +5 defense against criticism from textual literalists.

Oh well.

A passing thought:

The spammers only seem to hit this forum, surely because their programming must tell them to hit the most popular forum. Is there a way to spoof the numbers so that another forum (one created specifically for such a purpose, of course) was targeted?

So all the spammers would post into "The Adventures of Spam-man" forum, which could then be cleared out on as needed basis. That forum would always present itself as having a bunch of topics, even if that wasn't true.

Such functionality probably doesn't exist in the software, and it'd only encourage them to get that much smarter, but it's a thought.
