Hi All

My first post so here goes; apologies if this has been covered

When PC's make successful prelim rolls, how many times can they use these bonus dice?

For example, rolling for travel; can the bonus dice be used for the entire journey? or are they used up as they are applied

Each bonus die is used once. Use it and lose it as the saying goes. You can pass it to another Companion to use in your place though.

Welcome! Bonus die can only be used once. So, if a player has one bonus die for the Journey and the Journey requires three Fatigue tests, the player can only use that bonus die on one of those tests.

What's so interesting about preliminary rolls is being creative about when and how to apply the bonus dice. As a Loremaster, I suggest making sure you have your players add something to the story when they add a bonus dice to their roll. You would be amazed at how this enhances your gaming experience. If you're a player, add the detail automatically without waiting for your Loremaster to ask. It's a ton of fun!
