Journeys and Maps - Available for pre-order now
Re: Journeys and Maps - Available for pre-order now
In the map of Rohan and Gondor, what region do Minas Tirith and Osgiliath belong to?
I thought it belonged to Anórien, but in the terrain type is different. And both cities seem to be without region type.

There is a dotted line between Anórien and the six cells you tagged in the spreadsheet, so it does seem to be its own region. I guess I would call that region "Minas Tirith", and assume that it's Free Lands. I guess we'll find out with the Gondor supplement....Falenthal wrote:In the map of Rohan and Gondor, what region do Minas Tirith and Osgiliath belong to?

Good point. It would seem also that Osgiliath is a region of its own, too. It should be a Border Land, in my opinion, but for now I'll keep it together with Minas Tirith as a Free Land. It all depends on the year of play for Osgiliath.Glorelendil wrote:There is a dotted line between Anórien and the six cells you tagged in the spreadsheet, so it does seem to be its own region. My guess, based on usual lead times, was late August/early September so I'd expect to see it arriving in the next couple of weeks (depending upon where C7 had it printed it may turn up here or in the US first).

I do not think even they know, considering their own webstore still says Spring 2016 for the release of the print version.kdresser wrote:Any updates on release date?

So you're using the evidence of an un-updated web page to conjecture that they are a mess organizationally and don't have a handle on the project?Enevhar Aldarion wrote:I do not think even they know, considering their own webstore still says Spring 2016 for the release of the print version.kdresser wrote:Any updates on release date?
What wild conjectures should we extrapolate from your failure to insert "that" after "considering"? Methamphetamine withdrawal? Cheating on your wife? Dipping two levels into Warlock?

How amusing. I went and clicked report post on that reply and someone else has already reported it.

When Zedturtle sends PMs saying that I need to tone it down it's probably true. But it pisses me off to no end when people drop in here and start dissing Dom & Co. They're not a big evil corporation; they're a tiny group of awesome guys working their tails off to create a game. Save your sense of entitlement for dealing with government agencies and insurance companies.

For clarity's sake, I don't have any special authority in this case. I do believe that Glor's response was over the line, but I believe he was exaggerating for effect, and not trying to directly offend.
I always recommend reading and writing posts in a spirit of as much generosity as you can manage for the other poster. In face-to-face communications, we often mis-speak or unintentionally step on others' toes. It's many-fold more difficult online, where it's harder to judge the situation and nigh impossible to correct yourself in the middle of a thought.
Finally, Glorelendil is right about the nature of Cubicle 7. For some of us, they are not a faceless corporation, they are friends who work really hard to do a good job. The nature of the business means that things don't always work out as they'd like, and the nature of their particular business (being really good at licensed products) makes them unable to keep us in the loop as much as we'd like.
Let's hope that we hear a little more about J&M soon... I imagine there's good news on the way.
