Hi all,

I am planning to start an online game round of TOR with two friends - and me being the LM.
I have seen various quite cool masks, tools, overlay/display options etc. of TOR rounds on YouTube. As I am not a programmer and I know that many of you play TOR online, I was wondering if you can point me to the neccessary tools?
Basically, here is what I would like to do (using a MacBook):

- show scenic images to everybody
- show the player character images and their specific travel roles, respectively combat stances
- play music (directly through my computer and not on the stereo in my room)
- incorporate a dice app so everybody sees all dice rolls

Could that all be done via SKYPE by sharing my screen and a music program?
How can dice rolls, combat stances or an interactive map be made visible for all players?

You'll want some sort of facilitation site, like Roll20, more likely than not.

Now, to be perfectly honest, I don't use Roll20 or any of its competitors, doing instead Play-by-Post, which is much slower but allows me to update whenever I'm able to, allows me to get a little bit of play in almost every day, and means that my players don't have to deal with all the distractions that turn a 20-minute post into something that takes 2 hours to put together (admittedly, it could have been 20 minutes... if I had more self-discipline and less external distractions from kids and what-not).

I'm sure someone will be along shortly that does use those types of sites soon enough.

I've been using Fantasy Grounds to play for nearly 2 years now. It would be a pain to set up, except that Valarian has put together a nice ruleset for TOR. This lets you do all the rolls, post images and run the game easily. I purchased an ultimate licence, which is fairly pricey but allows players to play for free using the demo software. I know they have a subscription model, but I don't know the details for that.

We use Teamspeak for voice chat and there is a plugin that allows you to play mp3 files over the Teamspeak client. Many people use Google Hangouts. I don't know about putting audio through that. It might be possible.
