Enemy Cards

Post by Arinbor » Fri Jun 03, 2016 10:19 am

Hey guys,
Im planning on making up a deck of all the current enemy types listed in the books that are out at this time, similar to the Fantasy Flight Star Wars RPG ones if anyone is familiar. Makes it easy to pull out stats rather than flipping through books which puts wear on them. This will be for my groups personal use, but once I am done I will be happy to post them up on here, unless it would breach some kind of copyright etc.
My question is, in the player made adventures and the like i noticed that there are player made enemies in tables that are the same as seen in the books. I am wondering how this is done as I have a few of my own enemies that I would like to add to the cards. Forgive me if its just a matter of photo shopping a table from a pdf and removing the text... hoping theres a blank one i can use. The fonts used for the supplements people use would be awesome too?
Cheers guys.

PS> May also be posting up a log of my groups stumble through the Darkening of Mirkwood, if people would be interested. Mainly to get some feedback and ideas on how I am running the damn thing.

My philosophy is that C7 is being extraordinarily nice to us by ignoring us. So I try to make sure that everything I do builds the game up and makes people want to buy the official materials. I'm not sure that cards that duplicate every monster in the game would be in line with that or not.

Formatting-wise, there's an InDesign template buried in my Intro Adventure thread. That should have my Adversary block in it.

PS I think folks would definitely like to hear about your campaign.

Don't know the first thing about the cards unfortunately, but yes please to hearing about your game!

I had a read through ( I ran this adventure for one of my groups not too long ago actually, was very entertaining) and didn't find what I was looking for. I am after a blank table, like the ones where the enemies are done up within your PDF, but blank so that I can input my own data. Otherwise, I will just create my own. Keeping to the style of how they are done in the books and the few player made adventures of the same quality will be great for the collection of material I have accumulated for this game.
Cheers for the help.
I will also start a new thread in a day or two with details of one of my campaigns. My main group is very combat focused, don't really care for role-play (the woes of trying to get tabletop miniature players into RPGs haha)

Right. One of the posts in the thread has a link to a zip file that has an InDesign template. I'll link directly when I get home. That template file should have an adversary layout in it.

Of course, you have to have InDesign to make use of the file. Eventually I might make a Scribus equivalent, I've just found the program lacking for what I'm trying to accomplish.

Okay, here's the link to the package post.

I'm not trying to be down on your idea, and I think we'd all be excited to see your new monster ideas. I just wanted to share my approach to these sorts of questions.

Appreciated mate, I will take a look. And I didn't get that impression at all. Everyone on these forums has been helpful as always. Gonna work on these and hopefully have something to show in a couple of days. Cheers again

I've got an MS Publisher temple I've used if you don't have InDesign. It has the stat block to one side and an image space on the other.
Example Template Card
Template Publisher File
European FG2 RPG
Using Ultimate Fantasy Grounds - that means anyone can play.

awesome man, cheers.

What I am looking at doing is this (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxskD ... TZlWXk3ams) for those that want to look. Theyre nothing fancy. They are 63mmx88mm as I plan on slipping them with old MAGIC THE GATHERING cards as my housemates and I have an abundance of unused cards. They could possibly be printed onto card stock as well. My only Problem is resizing the images is making them blurry and I do not have the technical know how to fix that. I could just make my own tables but that is a lot of time and effort I'm not sure I have.
