I was wondering how some of you would handle Rohirrim and their steeds on certain adventures such as "Leaves and Stewed Hobbits" where horses couldn't go.

Hmmm... Well in that case, it seems like the Bree-men could watch the horses. I'd guess that there are other times (especially the last adventure) where the horses would definitely be a hindrance. You might have to have a NPC (ala the Lake-towner's ability) to handle the horses or otherwise hand-wave it.

I think I wouldn't bother too much about it, although other LMs might think otherwise:

if there's an elegant way to solve the problem (the Bree-men watch the horses, as zedturtle suggested), then fine.
If not, just consider the mounts are loosely tied to a branch and wait for their masters.

As happens with the Hound of Mirkwood, the animal companion shouldn't be a nuisance to the hero.

In the case of horses, they could be the theme (but not the target!) of travelling Hazards.
For example: (Suppouse the rohir is the Hunter) your horse is scared by howls of wolves in the night. Roll for Hunting to recover it and calm it down, or else you get Tired for the rest of the Journey because you had to spend the whole night looking for it.

Thank you both for the responses.
