Garrett, it was great talking with you again! Interesting topic about adaptation, but I really enjoyed the questions you asked about Loremastering issues and encounters in particular. I did notice I made a mistake: I used an example of Thranduil sending Elves from "Rivendell" instead of the Woodland Realm. Oops! And, just for clarification, the word 'Meduseld' is Anglo-Saxon for mead-hall, based on the mead-hall named Heorot in Beowulf. So, if Tolkien stole the name, he literally stole the word for mead-hall and not the word 'Heorot.' [Tolkien scholars feel free to further clarify and correct me if need be. I don't mind!]

Everything is a Remix on Youtube. It's a fascinating look about how music and movies borrow ideas from previous works to bring something "new" to modern generations. The same principles apply to literature...and writing adventures for The One Ring! Borrow, get creative, and use winning formulas to tell a story. Just don't flat-out plagiarize and take the credit!
Remember: People do not copyright story plots or ideas. So, re-mixing and retelling stories is fantastic! Plagiarism happens when you steal someone else’s words and you're not paying homage to them but taking the credit.

I had a great time chatting with you also. I hope you get to listen to the latest episode of Threats From Mirkwood. I really pulled the wool over the adventurers' eyes. They swore they were going to be TPK'd, That wouldn't be fun.
