Technically Spiral Armour can only be leather, not mail.

Ooops, I used the azrapse app and it wasn't specified.Glorelendil wrote:Technically Spiral Armour can only be leather, not mail.
Ok, a Heart Seeker spear then, used to "protect Rohan from the wild and thieving dunledings".
If Mendellon gets corrupted by Saruman in the future, it might also be used against the rohirrim...

Interesting. The idea of doing one culture by rules and another culture by character background is very inspired.Falenthal wrote:Ooops, I used the azrapse app and it wasn't specified.Glorelendil wrote:Technically Spiral Armour can only be leather, not mail.

Re: Servants of Saruman
Einthe has always been hunting, and it is the elusive quarry that has always remained in her mind. She hunts game, for the people must be fed, but treasure is ever on her mind. The Dunlendings have never had much, and she knows that gold can buy many things: food, clothing, shelter, men's loyalty. It was with these thoughts in mind that she first stalked Nan Curunir, but once she met the White Wizard, she soon found out that being in his service was more profitable than sneaking at his borders. Now she is looking for new opportunities, and wealth that can change her family's life.
Finally got around to writing out a proper background, let me know what you think.
Almost there, I want to get at least seven done... with Mendellon, Sibil, and our unnamed woodman we're getting close. I'm going to do a Dwarf of the Grey Mountains that never quite abandoned Dunland, but I'm always open for suggestions.

Should the Woodman be archer or melee?
My sense is melee. "Woodman" and "Axe" just go together like...peas and carrots?

Re: Servants of Saruman
Another "exotic" character as Servant of Saruman could be High Elf with the Artificier of Eregion Virtue.
He could trust the White Wizard, who is after all a Maia of Aulë, when he says that the Noldor could recover the bright days of before if only they would accept their tutelage and left all the hiding and limits imposed by Elrond.
This High Elf could stay in Isengard, helping and learning from Saruman in the art of ringmaking, looking to recover the lost knowledge from Ost-in-Edhil and the secrets of Celebrimbor.
He might become corrupted by Saruman at some point, or see throught the White Wizard's lies and flee back to Imladris at some point.

Ragnacar
They say his mother was as fair as an Elf-maiden, and that his father spirited her away from the Wood of Sorcery far in the South. Ragnacar doubts this was true, as there was nothing sorcerous in her love for husband and son, but he remembers that her senses and intuition oftentimes proved to be very sharp, and her sons shows signs of the same. Which is fortunate, because he has a dangerous tendency to wander alone rather deeply into the Mirkwood.
And maybe he carries some fairy heritage after all, for when one of the great hounds of the Woodmen bore a litter of just one, the eerily calm and alert pup, of whom the greybeards claim they have never seen the like, seemingly chose Ragnacar. So when the pup vanished, suspiciously just as some traveling merchants passed through the village, Ragnacar found himself following the caravan south into distant lands.

We have an archer already, so close combat is alright by me.Glorelendil wrote:Should the Woodman be archer or melee?

I think Feathered Armour might be a bit of a miss, if any of "A Secret Folk" are about. But I would like 7+ options, so we can't assume that everyone will make an appearance.
