[Speculation] Regions left to cover

What other Region books are people expecting to see for TOR?

- Shire - covering Bree and Western Eriador
- Gondor
- Mordor
- Lothlorien - I could see this either being paired with the Grey Havens (assuming it isn't in Western Eriador), have a smaller Laketown coverage, or be part of an Elven sourcebook like Erebor

After that, most regions seem to be more "off the map".

That could be paired with Lothlorien too given they are geographically close. Not sure what the overarching theme would be.

Well, let us see:

1. The Shire
Containig: The Shire, The old Forest and the Barrow Downs, Bree-Land

2. Gondor and Ithilien
Containig: Gondor (Minas Tirith, Dol Amroth, Anfalas etc), Ithilien (including Minas Morgul), Osgiliath etc.

3. The Misty Mountains
Containing: The Misty Mountains themselves, Goblintown, Khazad Dum and Lothlorien

4. Harad and the South
Containing: Umbar, near and far Harad

5. The Blue Mountains
Containing: The Blue Mountains, the Grey Havens and Forochel

6. Mordor
Containing: Mordor and maybee Rhun and Dorwinion

That should be complete.

I like a lot of these suggestions (pardon my spelling and punctuation corrections).
Zulgolra wrote:1. The Shire

Make that last Bree-land (but with a map of Bree proper) and I'm in.
2. Gondor and Ithilien
Containing: Gondor (Minas Tirith, Dol Amroth, Anfalas, etc.), Ithilien (incl. Minas Morgul), Ogiliath etc.
I would move Minas Morgul into the Mordor package, but would include the city of Pelargir.
3. The Misty Mountains
Containing: The Misty Mountains themselves, Goblin Town, Khazad-dûm and Lothlórien.
I would like to see Lothlórien in it's own booklet styled like the Lake-town supplement.
4. Harad and the South
Containing: Umbar, near and Far Harad.
Great idea and I would really like to see Umbar mapped out; but, I don't think that there are any officially-sanctioned maps of regions beyond Umbar. It's the same problem we would have for the East beyond the Sea of Rhûn. If a supplement for Near and Far Harad proves to be impossible then perhaps Umbar could be detailed in the Gondor supplement.
5. The Blue Mountains
Containing: The Blue Mountains, the Grey Havens and Forochel.
Include Forlindon and Harlindon for completeness. We would also need the Hall of the Dwarves, the former Halls of Thorin Oakenshield (if they are not one and the same), the Tower Hills and at least one dwarven city in the Southern Blue Mountains. And might there be some isolated Mannish farmholds and small thorps in the lands between the Mountains and the River Lune? These would be mostly descendants of the people of Arthedain who had fled from the armies of Angmar, perhaps mixed with a smattering of Dunlending immigrants and even mixed with some Lossoth blood.
6. Mordor
Containing: Mordor and maybe Rhûn and Dorwinion.
Put Minas Morgul in this as well as the region of Khand with the Variag Men. Perhaps cover Dorwinion as a separate booklet (as I also suggested for Lothlórien). Again, the lands beyond the Sea of Rhûn present the problem of needing maps that would need to be entirely new (as the material presented in the HOME volume The Shaping of Middle-earth is unavailable).

Aman.

Now that 5e is coming we're gonna want to kill Vala and take their stuff.

Sigh.

Everyone knows you need to be able to dual-wield to have a chance fighting the Valar.

No, we just need to be able to cast mountain rending magic spells.

Nuclear Fireball would explain the end of the First Age. Or, if you are familiar with the anime The Slayers:

PLAYER: I cast "Giga Slave" against the Balrog!

"Darkness beyond blackest pitch, deeper than the deepest night! King of Darkness,
who shines like gold upon the Sea of Chaos, I call upon thee and swear myself to
thee! Let the fools who stand before me be destroyed by the power you and I possess!"

[Player rolls..]

DM:Okay, that's a TN of 40...yada, yada, yada... Um, you got an 'Eye' on your feat die and there's no auto-succeed. I need to yo make one more roll.

[Player rolls...)

DM: Um... You know the Misty Mountains? They're not there any more. But neither are you or anyone else within a thousand miles.
