I suggest using the gift card for something else and purchase the hard copy (if you want it badly enough) from a retailer in the bits-and-mortar program or directly from C7.kdresser wrote:Part of the reason I ask is that I have a Barnes & Noble gift card...but I don't want to use it on a hard copy that I'll end up using more as a PDF.

"Far, far below the deepest delvings of the Dwarves, the world is gnawed by nameless things. Even Sauron knows them not. They are older than he."

Those of you who don't have the 1st Edition Rule Book, how do you utilize the player and Loremaster maps in the front and back of the book? How would my players plan their journey, practically, and the LM keep track of the progress without a large practical map? I understand Journeys & Maps will fix this soon, but how have all you LM's been pulling that off?

I use my good friend (and sometimes alternate personality) Glorelendil's Journey Calculator, along with the PDF maps, converted to JPG so that they will work with the site.kdresser wrote:Those of you who don't have the 1st Edition Rule Book, how do you utilize the player and Loremaster maps in the front and back of the book? Incidentally, I do believe that Cubicle 7 and Bits & Mortar support a fairly robust ecosystem where you can buy the hard-cover and get the PDFs for free. Of course, discount sites don't work, because there's no overhead for the program.

Adventure Summaries for my long-running group (currently playing through The Darkening of Mirkwood/Mirkwood Campaign), and the Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

These days I am almost strictly a PDF person. I am making an exception for AME.
