I suggest using the gift card for something else and purchase the hard copy (if you want it badly enough) from a retailer in the bits-and-mortar program or directly from C7.

Those of you who don't have the 1st Edition Rule Book, how do you utilize the player and Loremaster maps in the front and back of the book? How would my players plan their journey, practically, and the LM keep track of the progress without a large practical map? I understand Journeys & Maps will fix this soon, but how have all you LM's been pulling that off?

I use my good friend (and sometimes alternate personality) Glorelendil's
Journey Calculator, along with the PDF maps, converted to JPG so that they will work with the site.
Incidentally, I do believe that Cubicle 7 and Bits & Mortar support a fairly robust ecosystem where you can buy the hard-cover and get the PDFs for free. Of course, discount sites don't work, because there's no overhead for the program.

I better stop it, otherwise somebody is going to take me seriously, and then that will be trouble.

These days I am almost strictly a PDF person. I am making an exception for AME.
